Sun simulation allows us to evaluate the aging behaviour and light fastness of surfaces at different irradiances

Solar radiation has a very high energy content. The long-wave components provide for the heating of the irradiated bodies and can lead to problems by overheating. The short-wave components have a destructive effect that should not be underestimated.

Tests with solar simulation are recommended for all products that are operated outdoors or indirectly exposed to the sun, e.g. behind glass. AKUVIB uses state-of-the-art solar simulation to create indoor and outdoor conditions.

Our walk-in chamber has an extra- large test volume especially for the automotive industry. Not only can the effects of solar radiation on the surface be shown here – combined tests with high irradiance plus high air temperature and humidity can also be performed.
